Faces of Pee Dee

It was a terrible explosion at Georgetown Steel that almost took Charles’ life.

He was in a coma for several weeks. When he came to, Charles didn’t know his name or who he was. He couldn’t talk or walk. Charles believes God gave him a second chance at life, but he had to start from scratch.

Charles was so ashamed and embarrassed for others to see him disabled that he broke down in utter frustration and despair. He says that God came to him at that time and said not to worry about his condition because “He wouldn’t let him down and he would be healed.”

Charles’ wife, Joy, was with him every step of the way. He found courage in his faith. God didn’t let him down. Charles has fully recovered.
