Faces of Pee Dee

Marion and his wife, Betty, bought Doc’s Gun Exchange in 2006.

Marion’s plan was simple. He would sell his guns with less markup and make a little on much greater volume. It worked. Marion increased sales by 2,600%. He now sells more guns on a good weekend than the previous owner sold in a year. He plows his profits into more inventory and a better selection.

Marion out-sold all of his competitors at the Land of the Sky Gun Show here in Florence. The other vendors complained. Marion was told he was no longer welcome at the show because his prices are too low. He even received death threats.

Marion has kept his prices low. He even lowers his prices further because of his buying power. I guess a man who hunts wild boar, kneeling with a pistol doesn’t scare too easily.
